Update: checked the solid lifter lash, and I have two that are grossly out of spec. Car is benched until I can get it fixed.

Ordering new valves and guides soon, so hopefully some updates will be in the mix.

The new valves came in! Ferrea +1mm oversized valves on both intake and exhaust. Also got the Ferrea valve locks to go with them. Wasn't cheap, but it's a good product. Working on getting the cylinder head pulled so I can get them all to a machine shop! Getting excited again, ha ha.

Finally getting some progress!

Got some pictures back today from the machine shop. The cylinder head has been ported and cleaned up a little so far (more work to be done still). Valve guides are installed, but not the valves yet. I just hope everything goes smoothly, lol. I'm tired of not having this car running!!!

Well, I got some numbers back from Port Flow Design (shop that is working on my cylinder head). I should hopefully get my cylinder back from them soon!

Here's the cylinder head after the port work and such. I had them also install the +1mm Ferrea valves and supertech bronze valve guides.

They also bench tested my cylinder head. I honestly forgot to have them flow test it as stock, so I'm pretty bummed about not having stock numbers to compare it to, but I do have numbers (from them) from when they tested a stock SR20VE cylinder head. I know the SR20VE head is much better than the standard highport DET head (especially after some work), but I just couldn't afford to make the swap. However, I'm fairly happy with the results I got back from the DET head. Looks like the exhaust side flows a tad better than a stock VE head now, but still lacking a little up top for the intake side. I'm OK with that though. I know other people have gotten different numbers for both heads, but I figured since these were both tested by the same company on the same equipment, that it would be a reasonable comparison. Here's a little chart I put together comparing the two:

Well, it's "basically" done! Ha ha

I haven't fired it up yet. I still need to put oil in it, and hook up the battery. Going to crank it a bit to build oil pressure, then connect the injectors and CAS and fire it up. Warm it up for awhile, then rip the VC back off and check the shims. After that, I'll order new shims if I have to (may not, I have a lot already, lol). I'll put them in, and then I'm ready to rock! If I'm lucky, I can drive it next weekend!
