In the spring of 2007, I ended up buying a white 1992 240SX coupe for $500 to initially fix and flip to make some money, but I ended up liking it better than my red car, so I took my entire spring break and swapped everything over from the red car to the white car. It took me about 50 man hours to do everything. Interior, suspension, diff, transmission and engine, wiring, brakes, and all the other things were swapped over. It was a big undertaking!

These were taken April 28th, soon after I swapped everything over from the red car.

These pictures were taken May 12th of 2007 at the Redding, CA Drag Strip.

The car stayed as it was after I did all the parts swapping for some time. I started saving and buying parts for the next step of my build. More power!!!

Ordered some new goodies for the next part of the project.

Kaaz 1.5 way LSD, ACT HD pressure plate, ACT 6 puck racing clutch, ACT Streetlite flywheel, and a new radiator (wish I would have just ordered another Koyo), because my koyo was damaged.

Splitfire Coil Packs

Tomei 740cc injectors, Tomei/Nismo adjustable FPR, oil filter relocation kit, Earls top mount turbo lines, Tial Q BOV, cheap catch can, Nismo engine and tranny mounts, and some other hardware.

And where the money was spent! Full-Race twin scroll GT3071R, Full-Race twin scroll turbo manifold, Tial 44mm waste gate, and a Full-Race 3" down pipe.

09-10-08: Took some current pictures of what the car looked like.

03-26-09: I got some new wheels finally!

Then I installed some 275/40/17 tires on the rear.

05-07-09 I finally was able to make it to a dyno!
Image

Image

It was a mustang dyno and the elevation was at 4200 ft. I put down 342.5 whp and 334.6 lb-ft of torque! The stock cams really hurt my power up top!
Image

With this power, I was able to run an 11.95 @ 114mph with a 1.61 60' launch. That is my best time so far at the drag strip.

05-30-09: I did a "photoshoot" down on treasure island in the bay area. My friend Bryan To shot all of these pictures. This is also how the car sat before I pulled the motor (again) for the current build.

10-01-09: Bought some megan coilovers. I now wish I would have spent the extra money on a good set of coilovers like KW (what I plan on getting now).

Now a little story: So I ended up buying another block to do my "build" on originally. I had it machined, and the rotating assembly installed (just the block), and then I installed the cylinder head and all the other parts I had ordered up to this point. The engine had scat rods, Mahle pistons, a brand new SR20DE crank, ACL bearings, Apexi HG, all the head hardware etc. I ran out of money towards the end of the build and stupid me cheaped out on the tune. I paid for my stock ECU to be modified and re-flashed for a tune capable of my modifications and boost parameters. The initial engine break in went decent, and my AFRs looked to be good (a little on the rich side except for when at 20psi and higher rpm). Well about 600 miles into breaking in the motor, the tune showed its ugly self and detonated badly and blew out the ring lands on number one mainly, but a little on two and three pistons. Number 4 was the only one still in great shape. I also had a lot of problems with the block sealing correctly with the coolant fittings that were pressed in the block. So I decided to scrap that motor, and am now currently building the original motor that I bought back in 2005. From now on, all updates will be of this motor.

01-11-11: Brand new Greddy intake manifold!
Image

01-21-11: New CP 9:1 86.5mm pistons.

02-10-11: Separating the SR20 that I bought back in 2005 for the first time! This motor had 140k miles on it from me alone, so with an estimated 200k on the clock after whatever miles were put on it in Japan, this thing still ran perfect! It had factory compression before being pulled, and the bearings look amazing after I pulled the crank. I've always used Royal Purple motor oil.

03-02-11: Mazworx Tq Plate!

As of 03-30-11 (today): The motor is in the machine shop getting prepped for assembly. More updates soon!!!
